We have just returned from a week touring Cornwall and Devon in 'Olive', one of Rent a retro campers VW t2 campers. We collected her fully stocked with more than enough to see us through our week including food and an additional tent. We covered around a thousand miles and she never missed a beat which, considering her 37 years is nothing short of fantastic. The quality of her restored condition and faultless performance are an enormous credit to Paul.
We spent an unforgettable, happy week with Olive and will be returning to Paul again next year. We simply cannot praise Rent a Retro Camper highly enough and recommend her to anyone.

Thank you so much to Jane and Paul at Rentaretrocamper for our wonderful summer holiday in Olive. It took some time to get used to driving a 1970's van but she took us all the way to the New Forest and back and was admired everywhere she went. Our 4 year old still talks about Olive as if she was a (much missed) member of the family and has drawn some great pictures of her! Olive really does come with everything you could possibly need for the perfect camping holiday and we were so sad to say goodbye to her at the end of the week.

We rented "OLIVE" a beautiful lime green VW camper from Paul. It was immaculate and came with everything you could possibly want and some more! Including a full fridge. We cant speak highly enough of Paul who is a consumate professional and a true gentleman.

A very relaxing weekend, blessed by fabulous blue skies, warm days and lots of sun so we could get the best out of both enjoying driving along the south coast of Kent and Sussex and trying our hand at the campervan/outdoor life experience. First evening was all about finding out what was stored where, how to put the roof up, bed down etc, but soon got the hang of that and by Sunday we were setting up the kettle within minutes of arriving, and stowing away again afterwards like veteran users. Loved the attention to detail in the fixtures and fittings, colour coordinated with all our needs catered for. Enjoyed watching a DVD before snuggling up in the sleeping bag - rather a snug fit but we were warm and slept soundly before waking up for the best of all starts to a day, sitting out in the sunshine, looking at a deep blue sea and waiting for the very tasty sausages etc to cook while reading the weekend papers.
The retro aspect to the driving was definitely an experience for Rob, though he quickly adapted to the more assertive style of driving needed and was changing gears, pulling out the handbrake etc like a pro. The high driving and passenger seating was great and we enjoyed the uninterrupted views over the coastline and countryside.
Driving along and being waved at by other VW drivers was a nice experience too and made us feel part of a club.
All in all a fun weekend and returned home with all the stresses of work just a memory.
We might become campervan converts and have given glowing reviews to our friends and work colleagues.

Just like to write to say how we loved our trip away with 'Olive'. You were both so helpful in letting us book our trip last minute, and your advert is so true, 'just turn up and go'. Everything you require for a camping trip is in 'Olive', making the experience simple and accessible, and having the bike rack was so easy to use. We have already recommended 'Olive' to our friends and we hope to be using her again soon. We loved how other VW beetles and camper vans wave to us on the road.... which I continued to do after we had handed her back, forgetting I was no longer in Olive.

After spending a week with Olive she began to feel part of the family!! We had great fun travelling around Scotland and in 1500 miles Olive did not put a foot wrong! Not only is she functional, with every piece of camping equipment you could possibly need, she is also extremely comfortable and cosy!

Wow! what a great weekend! Every step of the way from booking to the reluctant handover at the end of a fabulous weekend was excellent.
We booked via e-mail which was prompt, clear and totally hassle free. All that we could wish to know was explained and our specific needs were accommodated.
We had booked Anni which being a left-hand drive, and not having driven one for a long time, I was a little nervous of, I shouldn’t have been. Paul was great at the handover, calm and patient, I felt immediately at ease - all questions answered and Anni was fabulous. It took a few minutes to get hold of ‘real’ driving again and all that entails, getting to know the gears etc. but in no time we were off. Anni was a real joy to drive and I enjoyed moment of it, Perfect!
This was the first time my wife, daughter and I had ever done anything like this. Anni was very well equipped for all our needs and we soon got to grips with setting up ready for meals, bed etc.
We had the option of a cot for out 4 year old but the bed was by far big enough for the three of us, which my daughter thoroughly liked (also I’m 6ft 1 and had bags of leg space with no feet hanging).
Would we do it again - ‘at the drop of a hat.’ Only problem I have now is convincing my wife we can’t buy one just yet!

We've just returned from a 4 day trip to France in Olive. Paul and Jane offered an impeccable service, friendly and relaxed and with everything covered, right down to lovely sausages and local apple juice in the fridge when we picked the van up. We absolutely loved driving round France in the camper and pitching up at night to cook whatever food we'd bought at the local markets before sleeping in the comfy van. She ran beautifully and took us to some beautiful deserted places and we always loved walking back to spot her parked in the street. We rented 'Anni' for a long weekend.We drove to Eastbourne and camped making use of the fabulous tent that came with the hire. We had such fun driving her and singing along (at camper van volume) to the good quality sound system. We were really impressed with Anni. We hired one of Paul's VW camper vans to use as a wedding car and for the bride & groom to be able to spend a romantic night in it by the sea. The car was immaculate with everything in it that one could want for camping. Everything seemed new and he had gone to a lot of trouble even to the point of checking what food and drink to put in the fridge! Very efficient and helpful - a pleasure to do business with. He obviously takes a pride in what he does. We would certainly use him again and are very happy to recommend him to others.

My 11-year-old, Alfie, and I went off in Olive for perhaps the most fun holiday we've had. We headed for the surfer's mecca of Polzeath in Cornwall, parked up on a beachside campsite, where we were the coolest vehicle there, and unleashed our respective inner hippies. The wettest summer in living memory did nothing to dampen spirits. We spent many happy hours playing board games on Olive's table (which kept sliding off until we discovered wheel-levellers) while Biblical rainstorms proved without a doubt that Olive is leak-proof! There was a strange assortment of animals lining up, two by two, outside the door at one stage... Altogether a fab holiday. We learned to surf despite the weather - and sorry we broke one of your break-proof glasses!

Just returned in Anni from a long weekend at the Silverstone Classic with my two boys Tom (11) and Matt (8). We all had a fantastic time with Anni and had smiles on our faces the whole time.
